Cap (N): Elektra’s birthday... and guest stars abound!
Nina: Something tells me we’re in over our heads this time.

(Page 1, panel 1. We see Elektra sleeping in bed. She is partially covered by the sheets, and we can see her in a sexy silk nightgown. Caption notation: P - The Purple Man)

Cap (N1): She is many things to many people.
Cap (N2): Warrior, teacher, student, friend and enemy.
Cap (N3): (Of course, some of her enemies call her names I can’t repeat in a code approved site.)
Cap (N4): But to this man coming,
Cap (N5): She is a lover.

(Panel 2. Enter a pleasant looking, tall, strong male, about Elektra’s age. He holds a covered tray. He is wearing a robe.)

Cap (N1): He is known as Ty Jones.
Cap (N2): He has a 5th degree black belt in karate, and knows several other martial art forms.
Cap (N3): His hands are deadly weapons.
Cap (N4): But it’s another kind of touch he wants to give now...

(Panel 3. Ty sets the tray down.)

Ty’s thoughts: (I hope she likes this...)

(Panel 4. Ty turns to Elektra just in time to get a foot to the jaw.)

SFX: WHAM!!
Ty: UHN!!

(Page 2, splash page. Leave room for credits here. We see Ty sitting on the floor, nursing his jaw.)

Elektra: Ty?
Ty: (1) Well, so much for a happy birthday surprise.
Ty: (2) I thought you would like breakfast in bed.
Ty: (3) Now I know why you sleep alone at night.
Ty: (4) You’re like a cornered tigress when you sleep, darling.

(Page 3, panel 1. Elektra helps Ty up.)

Elektra: Please forgive me, lover. I do have a past full of people who would like to see me dead...
Ty: It’s nothing a kiss from a beautiful and intelligent woman couldn’t fix..

(Panel 2. Elektra puts an arm around Ty, and smiles.)

Elektra: Guess I‘ve been elected.

(Panel 3. They kiss. Panel 4. They part.)

Ty: Come, lie down... breakfast is getting cold.

(Panel 5. Elektra sits in her bed as Ty serves her breakfast.)

Ty: And for breakfast... pita bread with organic strawberry jam, orange juice, and a small bowl of jouk.
Elektra: My... how did you know what I liked?

(Panel 6. Ty smiles.)

Ty: Oh... just a wild guess.
Elektra: A wild guess named Nina, perhaps?

(Page 4, panel 1. Ty is taken aback as Elektra eats her breakfast.)

Ty: Well... perhaps.

(Panel 2. We see Elektra finish dressing in a modest blouse and blue jeans. Ty has left the room.)

Cap (N1): After a shower, shaving her legs, makeup, and dressing for the day...
Cap (N2): She is ready to face the day.
Elektra: All right, Ty. You may enter now.

(Panel 3. Enter Ty.)

Ty: Well, there are several people who are out there for you, darling. One of them said she came all the way from Texas.
Elektra: Texas?

(Panel 4. Ty approaches Elektra.)

Ty: Yea, she said her name was Lotus or something like that.
Elektra: Interesting...

(Page 5, panel 1. Elektra goes out to see Nina there, dressed in a blue blouse and miniskirt. Next to her is Lotus, dressed in a one-piece light blue dress with short skirt on it.)

Elektra: Lecita... ?
Lotus: I bet you thought I forgot it’s your birthday, didn’t you? Well, I didn’t. Happy birthday, Elektra.
Nina: We’ve got a wonderful day lined up. You’ve got an appointment at Salon Gágon.

(Panel 2. Go over to a house in Long Island. We see a television running, broadcasting the news.)

Reporter: And in other news, the notorious criminal Lifeshock was captured today, after efforts by the villainess turned heroine Elektra.

(Panel 3. We see the Purple Man sitting in a chair, frowning. He wears a purple shirt and purple pants.)

Cap (N1): His name is Zebadiah Killgrave.
Cap (N2): More commonly known as the Purple Man.

(Panel 4. The Purple Man stands.)

Purple Man: Elektra... Elektra... well, soon, it won’t be you, Elektra.

(Page 6, panel 1. Salon Gágon. We see Elektra, Nina, and Lotus at the counter, talking to the clerk, a redheaded woman who smiles.)

Cap (N): Quite awhile later (allowing for traffic in New York.)
Clerk: Bonjour, mademoiselles. How may I help you?
Nina: My friend her has an appointment, her name is Elektra.

(Panel 2. The clerk looks the list over.)

Clerk: Ah, oui. Come, come, we have just the thing.
Elektra: (smiles) It’s been way too long since I was pampered and treated well.

(Panels 3,4,5, and 6. We see Elektra getting the royal treatment, getting a mudbath, manicures, pedicures, makeup, and the like.)

Cap (N1): It takes time.
Cap (N2): As the Spanish say, “Necisito sufrir demasiado para ser bonita.*” (Page 7, panel 1. Elektra comes out looking ultra-hot. She looks herself over in the mirror.)

Nina: You look wonderful, Elektra.
Elektra: Yes...
Lotus: We’ve got a guy waiting for you. I’m sure he’s going to like the makeover.

(Panel 2. They exit the place to find themselves surrounded by an angry mob.)

Nina: This doesn’t look good.
Lotus: I sense mind control at work here... their spirits seem caged up somehow...

(Panel 3. The crowd advances on our heroines, who go into an alley.)

Crowd: Death to Elektra! Death to the criminal!
Nina: It’s getting very ugly, Elektra.
Elektra: Time to take the elevator.

(Panel 4. Elektra jumps up onto a fire escape. Nina looks up.)

Elektra: They sound like they are after only me.... they shouldn’t harm you.
Lotus: They will, we’re coming up.

(Panel 5. Nina jumps up to the fire escape. Lotus shifts into her spirit form.)

Lotus: Unfortunately, I’ve never been great at jumping upwards.

(Page 8, panel 1. They race up the fire escape as the crowd below becomes surly. Lotus turns solid.)

Lotus: I can’t sense where the controller is... they have him hidden good.
Nina: So much for a happy birthday.

(Panel 2. The ladies head for the ledge.)

Lotus: You make it look easy to do, Elektra.
Nina: I hate having to jump from rooftop to rooftop in high heels.
Elektra: The situation demands it, Nina.

(Panel 3. They jump to another rooftop.)

Lotus: One down, several more to go.

(Panel 4. Go down to see the Purple man in a suit and tie amongst the crowd.)

Cap (P1): Round one to you, Elektra.
Cap (P2): But the war is far from over.

(Page 9, panel 1. Elektra’s place. We see it set up for a party. A banner reads: “Happy Birthday Elektra” in English and Greek on the wall. Ty is there, along with Karen Page, Matt Murdock, and Wolverine.)

Wolverine: (sniffs the air) She’s coming...

(Panel 2. Elektra opens the door to see the others there.)

All: Happy birthday, Elektra!
Elektra: Ty, you shouldn’t have...

(Panel 3. Ty puts an arm around Elektra, and leads her to the table where a lit cake waits for her.)

Ty: Hey, don’t be modest, birthday woman. Today’s your day to shine.

(Panel 4. Elektra blows out the candles, which are in the shape of two question marks, as the others sing.)

All but Elektra: Happy birthday to you/ Happy birthday to you/ Happy birthday dear Elektra/ Happy birthday to you.

(Page 10, panel 1. Elektra serves the cake.)

Nina: It’s a special festive chocolate low-calorie cake I found the recipe for.

(Panel 2. Elektra and the others take a bite of the cake.)

Elektra: Mmm...

(Panel 3. Elektra turns to the presents. There are several boxes of various shapes and sizes.)

Elektra: Ah, which first, which first...
Nina: Try mine, Elektra.

(Panel 4. Elektra opens a box to see a pleasant looking red blouse.)

Nina: Red is definitely your color.
Elektra: Thank you, Nina.

(Page 11, panel 1. Go back to the Purple Man. He is standing on a nearby rooftop.)

Cap (N): And nearby...
Cap (P1): Well, so this is where she lives...
Cap (P2): I’ll just have to pay her a visit.

(Panel 2. Go back inside to see Elektra holding up a sai that is mounted in a case.)

Elektra: Thank you, lover.
Ty: That’s actually a 17th century sai from Nagano. It’s been handed down in a family for years... until the family fell on hard times.

(Panel 3. Elektra turns to see about 6 ninjas in black outfits there.)

Nina: Something tells me they weren’t invited guests...
Ninja: [Elektra! Kunoichi! Time for you to die!*]
Cap (N): *Translated from the original Japanese.

(Panel 4. Lotus advances on them.)

Lotus: There’s that mind control thing again...
Wolverine: (sniffs the air) I smell something ugly...

(Page 12, panel 1. Wolverine bears his claws as the Ninjas attack.)

SFX: SNIKT!
Elektra: [Who are you with?]

(Panel 2. A Ninja takes a swing at Ty, who dodges.)

Ty: Be warned - I am a 6th degree black belt in several martial arts.
SFX: SWISH!

(Panel 3. Elektra connects with a foot to the jaw of one of the ninjas.)

Cap (E): Try to be easy on them... they do not know what they are doing...
Daredevil: Now I remember! That’s the same smell of the Purple Man!

(Panel 4. The ninjas stop attacking as the Purple Man enters.)

Purple Man: No help from the Peanut gallery, Daredevil.
Wolverine: What are you doing here, Killgrave!? (Panel 5. The Purple man advances.)

Purple Man: Ruining the day is what I do.

(Page 13, panel 1. Elektra faces the Purple Man.)

Elektra: But why me, Killgrave?
Purple Man: The answer is simple, Elektra. You have it all: And you’ve climbed out of the hole you were in. You had the mob, the police, the Hand, and every two-bit hood after you. Now, the mob’s off your back, you’ve been cleared of all charges, and the Hand has fallen. Where does that leave me? The only joy I get out of life anymore is making others miserable.

(Panel 2. They continue to talk.)

Lotus: Sounds like someone’s suffering from low self-esteem.
Purple Man: Don’t try to psychoanalyze me, Lotus. I’ve been down that road more times than you can count.

(Panel 3. Lotus approaches the Purple Man.)

Lotus: Sounds like you want to be loved for who you are, and not be judged by your appearance. The course you should take is stopping others from hurting people.
Purple Man: I’ve had enough of this.

(Panel 4. The Purple man faces Elektra and Nina.)

Purple Man: (in purple type) Attack her and her friends.
Elektra: Uhn...
Lotus: Find your center, Elektra...

(Page 14, panel 1. Nina, unsheathing her katana, attacks Lotus, who dives to avoid her attack. Elektra grabs her head and staggers.)

Elektra: Uhn...
SFX: SWISH!!

(Panel 2. The Ninjas resume their attack on Wolverine, Ty, and Daredevil.)

Purple Man: It’s no use... give it up.

(Panel 3. Elektra concentrates.)

Cap (E1): Focus.
Cap (E2): Find your center.
Cap (E3): The spirit can never truly be captured.
(Panel 4. Elektra strikes the Purple Man with a diving kick.)

SFX: WHAM!!!
Purple Man: UHN!!

(Page 15, panel 1. Lotus puts a spirit form hand into Nina’s head.)

Lotus: Relax, center yourself.. .allow the spirit to conquer the problem...
Nina: Uhn...

(Panel 2. Nina collapses.)

Nina: Uhn..

(Panel 3. The Ninjas vanish as Nina recovers.)

Nina: Thank... thank you.
Lotus: We’re not done yet... the Purple Man is getting away.

(Panel 4. Daredevil throws his club, striking the Purple Man in the back of the PM’s head.)

: SFX: Whunk!
Purple Man UHN!

(Page 16, panel 1. The others surround the Purple Man.)

Lotus: Prison waits for you, Killgrave.

(Panel 2. Outside a police station. We see Elektra, Nina, Lotus, Ty, Wolverine, and Daredevil standing out there, with several news reporters there.)

Cap (N): And after a trip to the local police station...
Reporter: You’ve captured some of the most hardened criminals in the city. Was the Purple Man hard to capture?
Elektra: Not really... But I cannot take all the credit. My friends helped me out. We brought him in as a team.)

(Panel 3. The reporters are somewhat surprised.)

Reporter: So you’re now forming a team to fight crime?
Elektra: Not really, this is a one-time thing, us coming together... however, each one of us alone or in teams will continue to fight crime.

(Panel 4. Elektra and friends leave.)

Elektra: I’m afraid we’re out of time here.
Reporter: Just one more question!

(Page 17, panel 1. That evening. We see Elektra, Nina, and Lotus standing on the roof of a brownstone apartment.)

Cap (N): That evening...
Nina: You’d rather spend your birthday fighting crime?
Elektra: Crime does not wait for someone’s birthday, Nina.

(Panel 2. They spot a woman who is struggling with a man over her purse.)

Lotus: Case in point...

(Panel 3. Elektra and Nina jump down, striking the man , sending him down.)

SFX: POW!!

(Panel 4. The woman takes her purse, and runs.)

Voice (From off panel): Some people don’t know talent when they see it.

(Page 18, panel 1. Elektra, Nina and Lotus turn to see Stick there.)

Elektra: Well, you’ve made a habit of showing up in the strangest parts of my life.
Lotus: Nice to see you again, father. If we had known you would show up, we would have saved you some cake.

(Panel 2. Stick smiles slightly.)

Stick: You’re starting to learn, Elektra. Yet you have a long distance to go.
Lotus: Don’t we all? Even you and I have far to go.

(Panel 3. Stick holds up a small box.)

Stick: Happy birthday, Elektra.
Elektra: You... knew?

(Panel 4. Elektra takes the box.)

Elektra: What could be inside?

(Panel 5. Elektra opens the box as Stick vanishes.)

Nina: Huh? He’s gone like that?
Lotus: Dad always did like to hit and run.

(Panel 6. Elektra pulls out a smiley face button.)

Elektra: Domo arigato**, osensi.
