(Page 1, panel 1. The offices of Landeau, Luckman, and Lake. We see Monty there, sitting, facing some computer screens.)
Cap (N1): The offices of Landeau, Luckman, and Lake.
Cap (N2): Montgomery is their resident precognative mutant.
Cap (N3): Right now, he's getting a vision of something different indeed ...
(Panel 2. Monty looks at one screen, which we cannot see.)
Cap (M1): What is this?
Cap (M2): This could prove a problem.
Cap (M3): I'd better get Zoe in on this.
(Panel 3. Monty pushes a button.)
Monty: Expediter: report to my office as soon as possible.
(Panel 4. Enter Zoe, wearing a light blue jean miniskirt and a yellow blouse.)
Zoe: What's up, Monty? I've got a problem on my hands.
Monty: I've detected a problem in Seattle. We've got an extra-dimensional being there emitting a pulse that is tearing our space-time continuum apart. If we don't stop him soon, he will tear the space-time continuum apart.
(Panel 5. Zoe faces Monty.)
Zoe: We've only got one agent in that area.
Monty: Oh God! Not him!
(Page 2, panel 1. Go over to Deadpool and Firelasher. We see them holding each other close. They wear their uniforms.)
Deadpool: I really needed this, Teri.
Firelasher: Well, I hope this is the start of something wonderful.
(Panel 2. The phone rings.)
SFX: RING! RING!
Deadpool: $#&* that Murphy's law.
(Panel 3. Deadpool and Firelasher separate, and Deadpool picks up the phone.)
Deadpool: Timmy's discount used lemonade stand. Beat the heat with our special treat!
(Panel 4. Split the panel with a phone cord. On the other end we see Zoe the Expediter on the phone.)
Zoe: Pool! Get down to the offices immediately! We need you here!
Deadpool: Will do, chief. Say, mind if I bring a friend? She's looking for a job, you know.
(Panel 5. The panel is split again. Zoe talks to Deadpool.)
Zoe: Bring them on, Pool, just get down here!
Deadpool: No problem, chief. I'll be there in two shakes!
(Panel 6. Deadpool hangs up the phone. We no longer see Zoe.)
Deadpool: Well Teri, we've got an assignment from my boss!
(Page 3, panel 1. Deadpool takes Firelasher's hand.)
Firelasher: I'm not too sure I want to get involved with this.
(Panel 2. They teleport out.) Deadpool: Trust me on this.
(Panel 3. The offices of Landeau, Luckman, and Lake. We see Deadpool and Firelasher teleport in where Zoe and Monty are.)
Deadpool: What's up, chief?
(Panel 4. Monty gestures to Firelasher.)
Monty: Who's she?
Deadpool: This is Firelasher, who is my new girlfriend.
Firelasher: Nice to meet you. I'm a flame-projecting mutant and I'll be Deadpool's partner here.
Zoe (1): Good luck.
Zoe (2, quietly): You're really gonna need it with him.
(Panel 5. Monty gestures to a screen, which has Quietus (From the AOA, Generation Next) on it.)
Monty: This is your target, Deadpool. His name is Quietus, and he's giving off trouble. He's emitting a pulse that is tearing the space-time continuum apart.
(Panel 6. Deadpool, ignoring Monty, looks over the bank of televisions.)
Deadpool (1): Hmm . . . can you get the women's mud wrestling channel on this?
Firelasher (annoyed): POOL! Pay attention!
Deadpool (2): Spoilsport.
(Page 4, panel 1. Monty approaches Deadpool.)
Monty: You've got to get to Seattle and stop him at once! Get him back to his home dimension.
(Panel 2. Deadpool looks at Monty.)
Deadpool: Will do, commissioner! Uh, how do I find him? Seattle's a big place.
Monty: Get an inter-dimensional pulse tracer from the tech department.
(Panel 3. Deadpool takes Firelasher's hand.)
Deadpool: We'll get on it right away, commissioner.
Monty: Don't call me commissioner!
(Panel 4. Deadpool and Firelasher teleport out.)
Monty: I hope this is worth it.
Zoe: I can't follow them. I've got to work on the Tolemeos corundum.
(Panel 5. Focus on Monty's face.) Monty: Then I hope this new woman will be enough to keep him on track, and get the job done.
Zoe: That's a big if, Monty.
(Page 5, splash page. Leave room for credits here. Deadpool and Firelasher teleport into Seattle, near the Space Needle.)
Cap (N1): Welcome to Seattle.
Cap (N2): Home of expresso bars, grunge bands, and that persistent dead fish smell in areas.
Cap (N2): It is here that Deadpool and Firelasher will find Quietus.
Deadpool: Well Teri, here we are! Seattle.
(Page 6, panel 1. Deadpool checks over a small technical device.)
Deadpool: According to this, he's about 300 meters away.
Firelasher: That's not too far.
(Panel 2. Deadpool and Firelasher assume holograms. Deadpool is a white male with black hair, dressed in tortured artist's clothing. Firelasher is a white blonde female, dressed in a green dress.)
Deadpool: Uh . . . you really think that outfit goes with mine?
Firelasher: No. We don't have time to argue, Wade.
(Panel 3. Suddenly Deadpool turns around, and grabs the arm of Kimmy.)
Deadpool: All right, kid. Give it back.
Kimmy: AH!
Firelasher: Wade!
(Panel 4. Kimmy hands over a wallet.)
Deadpool: There are better ways to get money than stealing it, kid.
Kimmy: Please don't hurt me. The bad man will if I don't bring him enough money.
Firelasher: Who are you?
(Panel 5. Kimmy pleads with Deadpool and Firelasher.)
Kimmy: My name is Kimmy. Please, don't hurt me.
Deadpool: Kid, I'll let you go this time, but next time, don't steal from people, all right?
(Panel 6. Kimmy acts hurt.)
Kimmy: The bad man makes me steal from people. I don't want to do it.
Firelasher: Just where is this bad man you speak of?
(Page 7, panel 1. Deadpool faces Firelasher.)
Deadpool: Firelasher . . . what about the signment-ay?
Firelasher: You can handle it. I want to do something about this.
Kimmy: You want to stop the bad man? Everyone who tries gets sucked.
(Panel 2. Deadpool takes Firelasher aside, but keeps a hand on Kimmy's wrist.)
Deadpool: Teri, need I remind you that this assignment, if we fail, will destroy the world?
Firelasher: You can handle it, Wade. Unlike you, I have a knack with kids.
(Panel 3. Deadpool is serious.)
Deadpool: Our L3 masters are watching. This won't look good, Teri. Besides, this kid just tried to lift my wallet. Are you sure you can trust her?
Firelasher (1): I know when a kid's in trouble, Wade. I do have a degree in child psychology.
Firelasher (2): Which comes in very handy when dealing with you.
(Panel 4. Deadpool hands Kimmy over to Firelasher.)
Deadpool: Then do it. But if you have to go into the sewers, don't flame up.
Firelasher: Why?
(Panel 5. Deadpool walks off.)
Deadpool: There's a lot of methane gas in the sewers.
(Page 8, panel 1. Go over to see Quietus talking to some children.)
Cap (N): Meanwhile ...
Quietus: This is all you've gotten me!?!?!?
(Panel 2. Quietus strikes a little boy, sending him down.)
SFX: POW!!
(Panel 3. Quietus turns to the next child, a little girl.)
Quietus: What do you have for me?
Girl: Please master, I tried to get something . . .
(Panel 4. Quietus narrows his eyes.)
Quietus: So you got me nothing, hm?
(Panel 5. The girl tries to run, but is caught in a vacuum.)
Quietus: NOBODY FAILS ME!!!
Child: *!
(Panel 6. The girl explodes, turning into a pile of blood and guts.)
SFX: SPLORCH!!
Cap (N1): Child abuse is never pretty.
Cap (N2): Child exploitation is even worse.
(Page 9, panel 1. Quietus faces the others.)
Quietus: Anyone with less than $5,000 should get up there and not come back until they got that!!
(Panel 2. Go back to Deadpool. We see him in the sewers. He is now in his uniform.)
Cap (N): And back with Deadpool.
Cap (D1): I can't believe Teri did that to me.
Cap (D2): I hope this isn't an indication that she's flighty.
Cap (D3): Vanessa* was like that at times.
Cap (N): * Vanessa Carlyle - a.k.a. Copycat.
(Panel 3. Deadpool continues to follow the device.)
Cap (D): If this turns out to be more than I can handle, I'm going to really be upset at Teri.
(Panel 4. Go back to Firelasher and Kimmy. We see them walking down a sewer line. The place is dank, humid, and filthy. Firelasher wears her uniform now.)
Cap (N): A little later ...
Firelasher: So what does this bad man do to you?
Kimmy: It's just terrible, Firelasher. He makes us go out every night and get him money. If we don't, he hunts us down and kills us.
(Panel 5. Firelasher smiles at Kimmy.)
Firelasher: Well, after tonight, you won't have to deal with him again.
(Panel 6. They come to another young boy, who has several bruises on his face. Like Kimmy, he is dressed in rags. Firelasher is now in her uniform.)
Firelasher: Good heavens! What happened?
Boy: Uhn . . .
Kimmy: Geoffery!
(Page 10, panel 1. Firelasher takes the boy into her arms.)
Geoffery: Who ... are ... you?
Firelasher: My name is Firelasher, and I'm here to help.
(Panel 2. Kimmy talks to Geoffery.)
Kimmy: He beat you, didn't he Geoffery?
Geoffery: It was horrible, Kimmy. He wants $5,000 from each of us.
Firelasher (nurturing): Well, he's going to get what's coming to him.
(Panel 3. They arrive at the chamber of Quietus.)
Geoffery: Please don't let him hurt me.
Firelasher: If I have anything to say about it, he won't hurt anyone anymore.
(Panel 4. Enter Quietus.)
Quietus: I hear a voice unfamiliar to me! You better not have brought someone to stop me!!
Firelasher: Exploiting children is as low as they come, Quietus! Your time has come!
(Panel 5. Quietus approaches Firelasher.)
Quietus: Well, another superpower trying to stop me.
(Panel 6. Quietus gestures to a mound of skulls.)
Quietus: That's what happens to people who oppose me!
(Page 11, panel 1. Firelasher makes a diving kick onto Quietus, knocking him back.)
SFX: WHAM!!
Firelasher: There's always a first!
(Panel 2. Quietus recovers.)
Quietus: That will be your last mistake, female.
(Panel 3. Quietus engulfs Firelasher in a partial vacuum.)
Quietus: I really hate adults . . . so I'm going to make you suffer before you die.
Firelasher: GASP!
(Panel 4. Firelasher goes down. Kimmy hits Quietus, not affecting him.)
Kimmy: Stop hurting her you bully!
(Panel 5. Quietus strikes Kimmy, sending her out of panel.)
SFX: POW!
Quietus: I'll deal with you in a moment.
(Panel 6. Firelasher turns blue from lack of oxygen.)
Quietus: How does it feel, being choked to death? You should never have tried to cross me.
(Page 12, panel 1. Suddenly Deadpool comes in, and makes a diving kick onto Quietus.)
Deadpool (1): Don't
Deadpool (2): Hurt
Deadpool (3): Her!
(Panel 2. Kimmy recovers, but Firelasher is gasping.)
Kimmy: Deadpool!
Deadpool (1): Well, our little Quietus is the one who was hurting these kids.
Deadpool (2): and isn't that a convenient plot juncture.
Quietus: Who DARES!?!?
Firelasher: Wheeze.
(Panel 3. Deadpool gives Quietus an elbow to the face.)
Deadpool: Man, looks like someone beat you with an ugly stick for way too long.
SFX: WHOK!
(Panel 4. Firelasher recovers, standing.)
Firelasher: You're gonna pay for all of this.
(Panel 5. Firelasher makes a diving tackle on Quietus, knocking him down.)
SFX: WHAM!!!
(Panel 6. Firelasher turns to Deadpool.)
Firelasher (1): Get the kids out of here.
Deadpool: Firelasher?
Firelasher (2): DO IT!!
(Page 13, panel 1. Deadpool turns to the kids.)
Deadpool: Let's go, kids.
(Panel 2. Deadpool teleports out, taking Kimmy and Geoffery with him.)
Firelasher: It's just you and me now. And it's time you got a taste of my mutant power.
(Panel 3. Firelasher flames up.)
Quietus: NO! Don't do that!!
(Panel 4. The place explodes in a massive fireball. The panel is shaped in the form of the SFX THOOM. Panel 5. The fire dies down, and we see Quietus' smoldering remains.)
Firelasher: No dimension should have to put up with scum like you.
(Page 14, panel 1. Firelasher looks around.)
Firelasher: Is there anyone else here? It's safe to come out now?
(Panel 2. Enter about 5-6 kids, both male and female. All are dressed in rags.)
Firelasher: Everyone, Quietus is dead. you don't need to fear him anymore!
Kid: He's ... dead?
(Panel 3. Firelasher teleports up to where Deadpool is, and brings the kids with her.)
Firelasher: Deadpool . . .
(Panel 4. We see Kimmy and Geoffery holding onto Deadpool.)
Deadpool (scared): Firelasher! Get them off me!!!
(Panel 5. Firelasher cuddles two of the kids in her arms.)
Firelasher: Deadpool, they need our love, they need our caring. They need nurturing.
Deadpool: So get them Stuart Smalley.
(Panel 6. Firelasher approaches Deadpool.)
Firelasher: Pretend they're me.
Deadpool: Hey, I'm not into that pedophillia thing.
(Page 15, panel 1. Firelasher is not amused.)
Firelasher (Coldly): Wade . . .
Deadpool (1): All right, all right. Deadpool (2): This is really ruining my rep as a tough merc though.
(Panel 2. Firelasher bends down to the children, and lets go of the ones she was holding.)
Firelasher: We'll take you in and care for you, children.
(Panel 3. Deadpool pulls Firelasher aside.)
Deadpool (1): Teri, You'd better be kidding.
Deadpool (2): I am not about to be father to 8 kids.
Firelasher: Wade, we can't just leave them here. They need love and caring.
(Panel 4. Deadpool thinks.)
Deadpool: We'll give them to an orphanage.
Firelasher (pulls a face): Can't we keep one of them?
(Panel 5. Deadpool is serious.)
Deadpool: No.
(Panel 6. Firelasher turns away, hurt.)
Firelasher: I can't believe you'd do this to me.
(Page 16, panel 1. Deadpool puts his hand on Firelasher's shoulder.)
Deadpool (1): Teri, I'm saying this from the heart.
Deadpool (2): I'm no Ward Cleaver.
Deadpool (3): Heck, I'm not even an Al Bundy.
Deadpool (4): Do you really want the kids to see what's under these masks?
Deadpool (5): And our jobs really keep us away from home for long periods of time. We'd miss a lot of developments in the kids' lives.
(Panel 2. Firelasher turns to Deadpool.)
Firelasher: You're . . . you're right, Wade. We should take them to an orphanage.
(Panel 3. Deadpool takes Firelasher's hand.)
Deadpool: We can visit them from time to time, Teri. Be there when they need us. But they really should have a home where they can get the love and attention they deserve.
(Panel 4. Firelasher looks in Deadpool's eyes.)
Firelasher: Let's take them to the orphanage.
(Page 17, panel 1. Go to an orphanage. We see Deadpool and Firelasher dropping off the children. Deadpool and Firelasher wear holograms, he of himself pre-weapon X and wearing a polo shirt and slacks, and her minus all the scars wearing a nice dress. Deadpool holds a suitcase.)
Cap (N): And so . . .
Deadpool: Trust me, Teri. This is the best for all of them.
(Panel 2. Deadpool talks to the orphanage headmistress.)
Mistress: Well, we have room for them, but things will be difficult for them.
Deadpool: I've got a little something that will help things out.
(Panel 3. Deadpool holds up the suitcase, which he opens.)
Deadpool: It should be enough to keep them fed and clothed for a few months.
(Panel 4. We see the suitcase is filled with money.)
Mistress (wide-eyed): My . . . I've never seen that much money in my life.
Firelasher: It's for a worthy cause, it's the least we can do.
(Panel 5. The headmistress takes the closed suitcase.)
Mistress: We'll be set for a good while now.
Deadpool: Just take good care of those kids . . . and we'll be back to check on them now and then.
(Panel 6. Deadpool and Firelasher teleport out.)
Deadpool: Good luck!
Mistress: Bless you, Mr. Wilson.
(Page 18, panel 1. the offices of Landeau, Luckman, and Lake. Deadpool and Firelasher talk to Montgomery. They are in Monty's office.)
Montgomery (1): Good job, Wade.
Monty (2): And you, Teri, have shown that you can be of use to us.
Firelasher: If it's all right with you, I'd like to remain Wade's partner.
Monty: Well, you've got your hands full, keeping him in line there . . . good luck, you're going to need it.
(Panel 2. Firelasher smiles.)
Firelasher: Oh - you just need to know how to deal with him.
(Panel 3. Deadhut. Deadpool and Firelasher sit opposite each other on the couch. He wears a shirt and slacks; she wears a nice dress. Both are maskless.)
Cap (N1): Later still,
Cap (N2): Firelasher tries to get Deadpool to say I love you.
Cap (N3): Good luck, FL.
(Panel 4. Firelasher and Deadpool hold hands.)
Firelasher: Come on Wade, I know you can say it.
Deadpool: I leo- leug- loug-
(Panel 5. Firelasher stares into Deadpool's eyes.)

(Panel 6. Firelasher starts to get frustrated.)
Firelasher: It's a simple enough sentence, Wade. Why can't you say it?
Deadpool: I don't know, Teri. I want to, believe me. Something just stops me from doing it.

(Panel 2. Deadpool tries again.)

Firelasher: Louder, Wade.
(Panel 3. Deadpool stares into Firelasher's eyes.)

(Panel 4. Firelasher kisses Deadpool.)

(Panel 5. Deadpool and Firelasher part lips, but put their arms around each other.)

Firelasher: Well, we've got one kid around here now, I don't know if I'd want another.

Deadpool: Ouch!
Firelasher: Relax, Wade. I love you, and I really don't want to ruin the moment.
