Welcome to the Tome of Stories and Poems
DUSK TILL DAWN

by -Randell Dobbins

Awakened by the sound of my heart at dusk. I soon shall rise to take the life of an innocent one. I love the sound of the innocent as I rip into thier neck, yet I hate it. Oh, how I mourn for myself. I would give anthing to be alive yet again.

Quietly i step out into the light of the moon and watch as the innocent walk by. I have to choose who I want.
There against a light pole stands a woman. I quietly sneak up on her.
I touch her neck.
" I ain't free, now back of pal!"
" I was just admiring your beauty," I said. "Let's go somewhere quiet, I'll pay you after it's over."
"Okay," she said.
She follows me through the grave yard and into my tomb. She acts as though she is scared, GOOD. Fright warms the blood. She lay down on the stone casket. I make love to her passionately, caressing her body, slowly working my way to her neck. I hold tight to her as I bite. Oh, the pleasure. She mumbles a little then falls to the ground. I had hoped that she wouldn't have died that quickly, so I could feed a little more. Vampires can't drink the blood of the dead.

I lay back down in my casket before daybreak. Thinking of my life before this. I can't stand knowing that I have to take lives of innocent people. Loving the taste of blood is a constant thing for me now. My only wish is to have my life back.
