A tall and shapely Elf, with long raven-black hair and green eyes that seem wiser far beyond her long years. She has one of those faces that is neither young nor old, and it is nearly impossible for a non-Elf to guess how old she truly is. She can assume many personalities, from a steely-eyed warrior knight to a soft spoken, charming lady of the Court. She rides to battle in the trademark black plate armor of the Black Talons astride a great black war charger. |
Isolia was the only child of a great Elf knight. At first
disappointed that he didn't have a son, her father made the best of the situation by bringing her up as his page, and then as his squire. Female knights were rare to unheard of at that time, so Isolia was disguised as a boy throughout her training. On the day of her knighthood, she felt that pretending to be a man would violate the code of honor that she had dedicated her life to, and revealed her true identity in the middle of the ceremony. The head of her order was impressed with her courage and honesty, and knighted her on the spot. Her father, however, mortified and humiliated, left the room without a word and has not spoken to her since. Isolia buried her sorrow in her work, distinguishing herself in every facet of knighthood and gaining the rank of
Cavalier. She earned the honor of becoming the first female to even be considered for membership in the elite Order of the Black Talon, and after several failed attempts, she proved her worth and was accepted. This did not go well with a few other members of the Talons, but after she bested them in feats of arms and horsemanship, she now serves as an equal. Isolia hopes to one day reconcile with her father, but for now is concentrating on her duty as a Black Talon. |
