Havendell it very tall and broad, even for an Ent. As with all Ents, he is thoughtful and deliberate with even the smallest of actions, and considers every possible option before acting on anything. He has rough, brown,
bark-like skin and greenish eyes that looke like wells of ancient memory. The only thing that will provoke him to "hasty" thought or action is if someone harms his beloved birds. He will then fly into the closest thing that an Ent can come to being called a "battle rage." While it isn't difficult to escape from him, an Ent roused enough to actually fight is nothing to be trifled with. It is not uncommon to see dozens of birds of various species perched all over his body, and has even been known to let them nest in his leafy hair. |
Havendell has spent all of his long life protecting and defending the forest ant its inhabitants. He especially loves birds, and spends countless hours watching them wheel about in the sky. Like most Ents, he was content with
living in Greatwood Forest and minding his own business. One fateful day, he came upon some of his bird-friends fleeing in terror from the edge of the forest, bringing news of a band of Goblins that were flushing birds out of thickets and
shooting them out of the sky for sport. In an unheard-of show of Ent rage, Havendell snatched up a fallen lod and rushed (for an Ent, to everyone else, he kind of plodded) to the rescue. Bursting from the edge of the forest, he found
the Goblins, still laughing and jeering at their game, with his slain bird-friends littering the ground. Swinging his makeshift club, he smashed three of the Goblins into pulp before the others even realized what had happened. After a brief battle, where the Goblins realized their weapons were having no effect on the thick hide of the enraged Ent, they fled screaming from the forest. When Havendell calmed down and saw the Goblin blood staining his club and spattered on is body, he fled Greatwood in horror and shame, exiling himself in shame at his unthinkable actions. He spends his days wandering from forest to forest, meeting new bird-friends and offering assistance and wisdom to whoever he meets. |
