The group walked in stunned silence through the streets of New York. This couldn't be happening. Nothing this bad had ever happened and there was this feeling that things just might get worse.
"Oh my God!" cried Angela. "Look!" she pointed an accusing finger down the street. What they saw next was something no one should ever have to see. The streets were littered with stunned newsies and newspapers. And as the dust cleared, two lone figures emerged. They squinted. No, it was three lone figures. Sort of. Low and behold it was the Jacobs family. Sarah looked exhausted, which was understandable because she was carrying Davy, who was out cold. In front of her walked Les, who was eating an ice cream cone.
"What appened?" Jack asked, taking Davy from Sarah. Sarah shook her head, wide-eyed. "Sp-spi-spice..." she managed to stutter out.
"I think she's in shock." Angela observed. Lynn gasped and pointed at the shirt Les was wearing. "Whea' did ya get, dat, dat, THING!" she screamed. The entire group gasped and leaned down to get a better look.
"You're, you're...YOU'RE WEARING A SPICE GIRLS T-SHIRT!" Angela screeched. Les shrugged. "What? Dey was free wid da ice cream." he replied nonchalantly.
"Les! How could you!" Sarah cried.
"Yeah! How could you?" cried the rest of the group.
"Hey," Lynn interjected, "what appened ta poor Davy hea'?"
"Scary Spice." Sarah said flatly. Everyone nodded, understanding.
"Did e, uh, get pinched again?" Jack asked slyly.
"You mean they pinched him before?!" Sarah asked. Jack nodded. "Well, they did more that pinch his this time." Everyone gasped. "They...they, well, they patted him." Everyone gasped again.
"They patted him?" Angela asked in disbelief, "How could they?" Everyone shook there heads, shocked.
"I think they were planning to do more," Sarah said, detached, "but he fainted on the spot so they didn't. They said it wouldn't be any fun unless he woke up."
