I burst through the front doors, nearly plowing into Johnny. Johnny, I said intensely, as I grabbed the front of his shirt, you have got to help me. Its all you fault, anyway.
What? Let go of me! I released his shirt and took a step back. YOU told dad that I had a boyfriend and NOW, he wants to MEET Jack. So now we are all going out to the theater on Friday night! I cried, exasperated. Johnny tried not to laugh but he couldn't help himself.
Its not funny! I yelped.
Ok, ok, Im sorry. So what do you want? Johnny said, recovering. I sighed. Everything has to work like clockwork. Jack gets her Friday afternoon at 3. We teach him table manners, and what not, then you get him cleaned up and into a tuxedo while I get ready. Then Ill take him off your hands and you can get ready. By then dad will be home and hell be getting really too. Then we all go to eat, etc., etc.
I have to get him cleaned up? I glared at Johnny. I hadnt meant that literally. You have to help me teach Jack some proper manners and make sure he looks presentable. You got me into this mess and now youre going to help me get out of it. Dad isnt exactly going to handle well if Jack shows up as is, you know.
Johnny nodded. Yeah, I know. Hey, where are you going to get a tuxedo?
I was thinking that maybe we could borrow one from James or maybe you could get one from some of your friends?
Johnny looked at me dubiously. Please? Cmon, its not that hard! Johnny sighed. Youll have your tuxedo, ok?
Thank you! I squealed and hugged my brother.
Just remember, he said, You owe me."
