Subject: Errata, Clarifications Date: Thu, 13 Aug 1998 22:06:34 -0700 From: "Matthew M. Colville" Reply-To: duneinfo@frpg.com To: duneinfo@frpg.com CC: duneinfo@frpg.com Some significant stuff here. Note: card errata only becomes *official* when it hits the CRF. Rules changes only become official when they hit the rulebook. Until then, you can think of my posts here as official suggestions. ;) Decrees: as Robert Baker has pointed out to me, it's not reasonable that imperial enhancements, such as decrees, would remain deployed while their parent cards can become subdued and deployed by another player. So, to fix this, Decrees will be treated the same way Ventures are. If its parent card is subdued, subdue the decree, but when the parent card is deployed, the decree automatically redeploys. It does not require, nor does it acquire deferment tokens. Grumman Fiat: Two Grumman Fiats do not reverse each other. Here's why; Grumman Fiat makes it so that, when initiative ranks are assigned, they are assigned in reverse order to their normal heirarchy. A second Grumman Fiat would do exactly the same thing; takes the declared favor of all the players (which is still the same, the first Fiat didn't change them) and assign them initiative ranks in reverse order to the norm. This is just a clarification. Note that the card actually states that the final initiative ranks are based on the declared favor, and the card itself doesn't change the declared favor. Shadow Partnership; this is a big one. Shadow Partnership will not work on Dune because dune is not a charter. It's a Siridar Fief. A type of fief which is considered a charter for purposes of Rites. This means that cards which target charters will not work on Dune. One result of this is that cards like Liquidation Measures, which previously worked on Dune no longer do. This is a wide sweeping change in a certian sense, but it fixes many things we weren't happy with (like the fact that Liquidation Measures affected Dune.) Diplomatic Settlement: consider it to read: "engage your defense leader." Since only one player (the defender) has a defense leader, this is a defensive card. Spice Infusion: Consider it to read: Limit 1. Hope this helps. "Bi-lal Kaifa" ---------------------- --------------------------- Matthew M.
