Loss For Whom? by Rebecca (xfgurl@hotmail.com) I look in the mirror But I no longer recognize my own face It is clouded with uncertainty It is muffled with confusion I look back on my life But I no longer remember The last time I smiled The last time I believed I look back on my accomplishments My achievements And draw a blank. Then I look into her eyes And realize the fire that once burned so fierce Is no longer there Knowing it is long blown out I watch her so bravely carry on Portraying courage when afraid Always with that brave smile And then I realize All she’s lost Is because of me. That’s when I forget all my losses That’s when I forget them all.
