Summary: Mulder is dreaming...or is he? ********************************************** Inside by Susan Frankovich ~~~~~ I'm in the water. No, I'm under the water. It feels cool against my skin, almost numbing, yet I like the way it feels. When I open my eyes, everything I see is blue and out of focus, yet it doesn't bother me. In fact, it's rather comforting. As I begin to look around me, I notice that there's something floating off in the distance, something small. It looks blue too, yet it seems to be glowing. I try to walk towards it, but being under the water, I can't, and so I try to swim instead. The cool water pulls at me from all sides, but it's not pulling me back. It's pulling me forward. The closer I get to the object, the warmer the water becomes, and the harder it is for me to breathe, yet I'm not afraid. I'm excited. There's something for me to see here, something I'm meant to see, and so I let the water pull me closer until finally I'm right in front of it. I start to gasp for air and my hands begin to shake, but I want to touch it. I need to touch it. Carefully placing both of my hands around its soft pulsating body, I let its power slowly wash over me. And then I know. I know what I'm holding in my hands. My life. ~end~ ~All my poems and stories can be found at: http://members.tripod.com/sfrankovich/index.html
