"Kalatir Never Follow The Rules!"

The human characters of my Katitar series have to follow many different regulations. To help them and you keep these rules straight here is a list. If I've missed any or you have any questions then please Mail Box me.

BOHAR - All Bridge Officers have a rank of third in command except the Exec (second in command) and the Commander (first in command) This rank is good for the entire ship.

CLAUSE OF MODIFICATION - Some of the polices regarding the daily routines of a ship or base (such as the uniform required while on home base) may be modified to an extent. This is done by a vote of the bridge staff who must find it proper and correct. If any upper UCF officers or Command Control find the modification not proper or causes disruption the modification is instantly reversed. The Commanding officer is not punished or reprimand, but an account is placed in his/hers permanent file.

COODC - When two Commanding Officers of different commands are working together the one with the highest sub-class will be the true commanding officer for both commands. If both have the same sub-class the one with the most time of service is to be the true commanding officer.

CTMTAAP - With any Command Transfer (a person going from one command position to another) may take along any personnel (up to four) they feel necessary (with final approval from Command Control) to make the transition smooth and effective.

DTACO - Anyone caught speaking disrespectful to a commanding officer must go on report (probation) The offender remains on report until he/she has proven to the commanding officer that it was an isolated incident. If another incident happens while on report, the offender is automatically reduced one rank. If the offender is already a Deck Hand, then he/she is turned over to Command Control where their fate is decided. Even if a Offending Deck Hand gets off they can never serve on that ship/base ever again. The regulation does not state it is limited to any race or sex. The Officer offended also has the option of reducing the rank of the offender directly to Deck Hand.

MASCOT CLAUSE - Any Military ship can have one animal/mascot as long it does not interfere with the operation of the vessel. If it does, the animal must be jettison at once! No exceptions.

MISTS - A MaxiYerk Inter-Ship Training Sessions must be completed with every Maintenance Tech within the allotted time. This responsibility falls the Assistant Maintenance Tech (since the Lead Maintenance Tech has more important things to deal with) Though it is not written anywhere (but taught in the academy) it is commonly excepted that during refit, overhauls or other dry dock time the actual Dry Time my account as MISTS (on average a crew member gets at least 20 MISTS' per MaxiYerk during a refit or overhaul) since the crew are the ones that do the actual refitting (thus learning as they go) No one has been ever charged of violating MISTS during Dry Time.

POBSODH - All promotions of bridge staff or department heads must be approved by Command Control. In the process the individual's background and past assignments are looked into.

PSBUA - Personnel ship bound uniform attire consists of a full uniform, which includes: Complete UCF issued jump suit, UCF issued boots and UCF issued designation emblems must be worn at all times except in sleep mode.

THE OATH - All members of the Force are required to take an oath to up hold all the laws, ideas and philosophy of UCF and Command Control. If someone is caught going against this oath they must be tried and if convicted there is only on penalty: Death!

THE SHAKEDOWN - First cruise of a ship after leaving dry-dock. The craft only needs the okay of one Select Person of Command Control but only after the Engineering Officer has submitted documentation that all major systems had been certified and all major systems have passed their tests (prelims) Once released the ship may go anywhere in the galaxy to work out all the bugs and to prove to the crew it is worthy. They only have one CentaYerk to do this, after that the ship either goes in for more repairs or goes into service.
