Anthony's Anxieties
As you might be able to infer, my column is once again about DAWSON'S CREEK and THE X-FILES. These are two shows that I make sure I catch every week and there are not many that I do that for anymore. These two and BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER being about the only ones.
My first question is regarding DAWSON'S CREEK. Where the hell is the creek? That body of water that Dawson rows across to go to Joey's is too big to be a creek.
This show just gets better and beter as time goes on. I'm glad to see that it got renewed.
Now, let's talk about XF. What the hell was up with that last 2-parter? Where did THAT Mulder come from? Was he replaced by one of the aliens? Mulder not believing "the truth is out there" and Scully and Skinner believing in aliens. Did I enter THE TWILIGHT ZONE? There was no explanation or nothing leading up to Mulder acting the way he did. Did I miss an episode?
I want to talk about VOYAGER's 2-parter, "The Killing Game," yet another story that didn't make sense. They drop you in the middle of the story and don't say how you got there.
I read in a TV GUIDE interview that Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine) liked doing this episode because she was out of her Borg get-up and was able to have big hair and big lips as she calls it. Jeri dear, you have always had nice, big, full lips. Whatcha complaining about? Any bigger (and I'm not complaining 'cause they are lovely) and you would look like Goldie Hawn in THE FIRST WIVES CLUB, which isn't pretty.
Before I leave, I want to return to DAWSON'S CREEK and get your help with a poll I'm conducting. Tell us who's cuter: Jenn (Michelle Williams) or Joey (Katie Holmes), and who should Dawson (James Van Der Beek) be with: Jenn, or should he open up his eyes and see the good thing he's got in Joey?
