Where the Heck am I?

Welcome to The Shapeshifter's Lair, home to the one and only (?) shapeshifter-mage! Or did you miss that part?

This place is The Shapeshifter's Lair, a page dedicated to FASA role-playing game, Shadowrun. For more on that, click here. Basically, you've stumbled upon one of the many pages which have the express purpose of allowing their authors the ability to publish material they wrote for this game, on the off chance that someone else in the world might find it useful. I have attempted to make formatting of this site similar to that of the more recent FASA sourcebooks for Shadowrun, and if you want to see exactly what I see when I view this page, you'll probably need a fairly recent web browser (the one that comes with AOL counts only if you've upgraded to IE 3), preferably Netscape; since that's what I use, and the fonts contained in the .zip file on the front page. If you don't really care about the fonts that I've used, then don't worry about. It's not that important. Just ignore all the work I put in to make it look fancy. I don't care. ;)

To explain what the deal is with comments in the table on the front of the page, those present news that the you, the user, need to know about what's happening around here. The first comment is always a listing of new or updated material, to keep you informed on what's new and what's not at the Lair. Anything after that is news that you need to know about what's going on around here, like the move to wherever it - winds - up - being, or huge changes in how the place is laid out that may make things difficult (for instance, if I decided to re-do the entire page in Java, that would be explained in a second comment in that cell). Opposite the Sysop comments are any awards this site has won. Although I have personally applied for two of the three current ones, I am kind of hesitant to do that (I hate sounding like a braggart:). So, if you see an award that you think this site deserves, feel free to nominate it. Above that are a couple of quotes, one from Francis bacon and the other from Lyle Canthros. And, in case you're wondering, you probably didn't see that second name anywhere but here:)

In any case, if you still don't know what you wanted to find out, besides looking pretty, there is also some original content on this page. This 'original content' includes some spells you won't find in any official SR book (I hope:), a magical tradition you've never heard of (doesn't exist IRL that I know of), some NPCs, a couple of archetypes, a magical group and some fleshed-out NPCs. Enjoy.
