Cannibal Typhoon hehs. "Well, need anybody on, Scales? I can try to get something going, if you like. 8)" Autobot Pouncer Scales notes that Scales got into trouble a few days ago, but nobody posted. *sniff* So, we've gotten a visit from a social worker. *G* Cannibal Typhoon hees! "What'd I miss?" Autobot Pouncer Scales stopped a group of drive-bys in Denver (stopped the car- not hard for even a little transformer) and radioed the police, who came and took care of things. Unfortunately, by the local law, Scales was underage, unattended by an adult, and in physical *ahem* danger. Which means they sent up someone to try to judge whether she's being neglected. *G* Cannibal Typhoon hees! Autobot Pouncer Scales says, "Discord was the only one we could find on who was technically 'related' and over 18." Cannibal Typhoon hehs! Cannonball Marissa blinks. Autobot Pouncer Scales says, "So, if you want to show up as Typhoon and play a gumby social worker driving up to bother the Autobots s'more about Scales, feel free. *G*" Cannibal Typhoon hms... 8) Cannibal Typhoon says, "How about you @emit the gumbly worker, since you know the sit better, and I'll play Blaster, who comes back from his vacation to find an accusatory social working wanting words with him. 8)" Autobot Pouncer Scales grins. That's work. Cannibal Typhoon says, "OK. JAS... setting up a char..." Autobot Pouncer Scales waits patiently and sets up the log, just in case. Lt.Cmdr Blaster says, "Uh, Scales? Could you meet me in the Diplomatic Lounge in Autobot City, please?" Scales says, "Um, sure." The Littlest Dinobot Scales lags. Autobot City You enter Autobot City... On the left, a large doorway leads to the repair bay, while a door opposite, on the right, leads to the barracks. Straight ahead is the Autobot City Command Center, and to the southeast lies the diplomatic lounge. A lift in the northeast corner connects to the upper levels of the city. At intervals around the area, small terminals and comm stations are positioned, redy for use. Blaster is in the diplomatic lounge, with a rather stern-looking middle-aged woman. 8) Scales sits. The woman stands there imperiously, with a manilla folder and a mean looking pen. Blaster sits as well, trying hard not to loom. Ida Fen says, "Ah.. there is the.. child. Upon my last visit, we discovered that not only is she not consistently watched, but is allowed to keep a severely dangerous animal as a pet." Blaster clears his vocalizer. Blaster says "Ms. Pen. Autobot are not human. I've told you already; they can not be put to the same standards as the human 'children' to which you compare her."" Ida Fen says, "-Every- child deserves a safe home. Even allowing for her size, a 24-foot long snake is not a safe pet." Scales gets wide optics and pouts. "But I -like- Alice." Blaster looks over at you. He seems a bit exasperated. "Ms. Pen said you got in a bit of trouble yesterday?" he says, without his usual sense of assurance. [Connect] Jetfire has connected. Scales fidgets. "Not yesterday.. a few days ago.. I was out playin' with some friends an' a car drove by with some other kids with guns an' they started shootin'.. so I stopped 'em. An' called the police." Ida Fen says, "A prime example of why such a young child needs supervision. She was in physical danger." Blaster brightens. "Now that sounds like a fine act for an Autobot. Just what's the problem?" Blaster says ":looks over at Fen questioningly. "Lady, I don't know about you, but we Autobots are in the middle of a war."" You say "Well, the police can't let kids unner 16 go home from a crime scene without bein' with a related adult or a legal guardian.." Blaster says ":frowns, his attention still on Fen." Ida Fen frowns. "Children have no place in war. Exposing them to such danger is irresponsible. Particularly as this on is still only a few months old!" Blaster erks at Auto-Say Blaster says "Lady, Autobots don't age as humans do. Scales was programmed on creation with everything she needs to know to survive. The child-like nature is the result of her learning program, not an inability to fend for herself." Scales pats. Blaster grins. Ida Fen says, "Young children -can- sometimes fend for themselves. This does not make them -properly- cared for or healthy, either mentally or physically." Blaster frowns. "Scales IS supervised. While I'm on medical leave, Field Officer Swiftpaw is in charge of looking after the tapes. That doesn't mean they can't go out and play. And play means something different for Autobots than it does humans, just lion cubs don't play the same way as young cattle." Scales watches Blaster put his foot wayyyy in his mouth. Ida Fen says, "Are you implying that we are inferior herd animals?" Blaster hees. "Yes, that was somewhat intentional. 8) But Blaster has it covered. 8)" Blaster smirks. "I merely refer to two of the Earth animals I studies while modifying my tapes to Earthen altforms. The point I'm making is the constrast between the rearing of different species of young." He leans forward. "Expecting the Autobots to treat their young as humans treat theirs is as asinine as expecting any other non-humans species to treat their young as you do." Blaster is more comic-book take-no-shit Blaster than the cartoon one. 8) Scales grins. Blaster says, "Makes him less suitable as human liasion, tho. hee!" Ida Fen replies, "The point remains that she -is- a feeling, sentient child. Therefore, she has the right to be cared for as well as any other child. Even among such non-sentient animals, children are cared for. And, according to -our- laws, she is very underage and unsupervised. It took several hours for the police to -locate- someone who was even remotely qualified to supervise her so she could leave the crime scene. That, in and of itself, is a persecutable act of negligence." Scales lies down on the floor. Blaster sighs. "Lady, Scales is a registered medic in the Special Operations division of the Autobot Armed Forces. Under our laws and customs, she is a full adult, deserving of the respect and trust afforded any adult." Ida Fen smiles coldly. "Unfortunately, under our laws and customs, she is legally also may be considered a citizen of the United States. All citizens have the rights to be treated as well as any of the rest." Mechannibal Parent has joined this channel. Ida Fen points at Scales. "That child needs qualified schooling and supervision." [Connect] Hun-Grrr has connected. Scales says, "It occured to me that this would be a great opportunity for Cobra to hear about and set their lawyers upon. A legal way to grab an Autobot for studying.. *G*" Scales blinks at Ida. "I do m'own schooling. Discovery channel's got great stuff, an' the internet's taught me a lot about people." Blaster hees. "Cool." Blaster frowns. "Under special agreement with the American government, Autobots are exempt from certain laws and regulations. If you don't like it, call your Congressman." Ida Fen nods, "And are those particular laws included?" She looks steadily at Blaster. Blaster says "Scales receives training as a member of our Special Operations division. And she is supervised by officers of the Autobot Armed forces. Think of it as at-home military schooling." Ida Fen says, "Well. We shall have to send a teacher to judge its effectiveness." Scales brightens. "you can talk to onna the teachers at Volk! I talk ta 'em alla time!" Blaster smirks. "By all means. Bring one by. I stand by our training. And while out agreement with he government doesn't specificially mention 'child care', it does exempt us for many laws directed at biological entities. I'll forward a copy to your office. Blaster . o 0 ( Great. I'm going to have to hae Swiftpaw fallow her around like frickin' Lassie... ) Ide Fen nods. "That will be appreciated. You may expect a notification soon." Scales hees! Blaster jives, "We'll wait with baited breath." Blaster 'accidently' steps on the annoying woman. hee! Social workers rarely have well-developed senses of humor. Ida is no exception. She turns about and stalks righteously out of the room. Scales sighs and puffs a little flame. Blaster looks over, and shakes his head, 'lips' pursed in a tight frown. [BotTapes] Blaster has joined this channel. [BotTapes] Blaster says, "Don't worry about it, Scales." [BotTapes] Scales says, "M'friends in Denver said they're bad news." [BotTapes] Big Daddy Blaster says, "You did good stopping those bad dudes. I'm proud of you." [BotTapes] Big Daddy Blaster says, "I think for the time being, you should try to always go with another tape if you're going into town. At least 'til this clears up. I'll order swiftpaw to accompany you." [BotTapes] Scales says, "Okay." Blaster pictures the Animanics cartoon with the little girl and severely put-upon dog. 8) Scales says, "Mindy and Buttons? *G*" Blaster says, "Yup!" Scales says, "Silly puppy.. ^.^" [BotTapes] Big Daddy Blaster says, "I guess you can ad this to your study of human behavior. What happens when good intentions aren't paired with proper sense and intelligence." [BotTapes] Scales says, "Yeah.." [BotTapes] Big Daddy Blaster says, "In the meantime, you'd better hit the dataPADDs. I want you to be able to show those teachers the Bots give ya a far better education than they ever could. Come up our office and we'll go over the history of jammin' music!" [BotTapes] Scales says, "Cool!" Scales gets back up into a sitting position. Blaster nods, and grins. He leans down, and pats his left shoulder. Scales says, "Don't you mean her?" Blaster says, "No, his. As in, "Hop up!"" Scales says, "Ah. *G*" Scales springs up and uses her wings to brake so that she lands on the shoulder the first time. Blaster grins, and stands, giving you a ride on his shoulder.
