Epiphany

by Tizzrah

I have come so far,
only to begin again.
Through the mist I see the Truth,
but always it eludes me.
Every time I reach to grasp it,
hold it tight within my fist,
it's gone, it's gone in the mist.

I hear a voice within my mind,
Sit still, beloved, it will come to you.
So I wait...

In speckled shadows,
my feet cooled in the river,
I sit still and listen
and feel
The breeze
soft on my skin...
The sun,
warm on my face...
My blood,
hot in my veins...

I sit still and wait.
That's when I find the Truth.
That's where the Truth finds me.

He comes to me, so beautiful.
He smiles with eyes a million years old.
He kneels down beside me on the riverbank,
He gently kisses my hand.
And he whispers,

Make me your lover,
and you will never grow old...

Make me your lover,
and you will never be lonely...

Make me your lover, beloved,
and you will be forever beautiful...

Make me your lover,
your constant companion,
and you will know
love beyond any sorrow...
joy beyond any pain...
strength beyond any weakness...
wisdom beyond comprehension...

The Truth is so beautiful, like a young man...
strong, unafraid, virile, knowing what he wants
and taking it.
In the dappled grass by the cool, shadowed river,
water chuckling over stones smoothed by
the constant flow of the years,
I saw the Truth.
I loved the Truth.
The truth entered me,
and the Truth set me free.
