ne the most striking things about those who battle the creatures of the night is the great variety of backgrounds from which they are drawn. For every warrior driven by burning vengeance, there is a simple soul who takes up a blade solely out of moral indignation. I have encountered wandering monks who readily assist anyone in need, as well brigands who have plundered so many ancient tombs that they know more of the undead than many priests do.
