Since being widowed, her clothing is woven of deep black with only highlights in shades of blue and violet. She continues her habit of wearing scarves over her long peppered black hair even though she lives in the Benden region, not the Boll, now. She seems to have abandoned her preference for clothing with bells or beads. On her right shoulder she wears the lavendar and white knot of a Weavercraft Journeyman. On her left ring finger she wears a slim sliver band, a reminder of her commitment to her husband, Devin.
Martigan is about 5 turns younger than she is. Wherever he goes he can be found mostly racing from place to place, trying out new things and getting into trouble. He was sent to foster with Aphrael of Ruatha partially because the combination of his energy, along with that of his younger brother, Travis, was starting to wear on Clara and Johann. Also, because he has no apparent interest in the Weaver or Baker crafts, his parents thought he should expand his horizons and explore his interest in drawing (or "scribbling" as Clara calls it). A fellow Ruathan, Channa, is helping him develop his talent.
Travis was born (unexpectedly) when Julaina was 15 turns, preventing her from applying for apprenticeship at the Weaverhall for about 3 turns. She gets along well with Travis but has to admit he is somewhat of a handful.
After being posted as a journeyman to the Benden sweep area, Julaina met a wanderer named Devin, to whom she immediately felt drawn. Devin seemed similarly inclined, happy to finally have a reason to settle somewhere, and applied for residency at Bitra Hold. He was given work as a stablehand, and a cothold there. After a brief courtship and engagement, Devin and Julaina were married quietly in Bitra Hold, much to the shock and dismay of many.
Despite her father's admonitions that "nice girls don't impress" Julaina seemed to be a magnet for wayward firelizards. Her fair currently consists of greens Auntie, Gilda, and Precious; brown Bumble; and blues Sky and Swimmer.
Immediately after her handfasting, Julaina became pregnant and gave birth to triplets a month early, her attentive mate Devin by her side. The firstborn was a girl, Jannea, then came a boy, Kiefer. The last was a boy, tragically stillborn.
Devin and Julaina continued to support one another amidst the sadness of their loss and the chaos of their gain during the twins' first year until a freak stable accident ripped Devin from Julaina's side forever.
Julaina is now even more subdued than ever. Her hair is peppered liberally and prematurely with white streaks and her eyes are filled with sadness as she quietly goes about her business tending to both her posting and her active toddlers.
