Roanne is wearing a beautifully embroidered vest over a blouse and skirt. The scoopnecked blouse is of pastel blue cotton. The generous sleeves are gathered snugly at her wrists. The black vest is cut low in an oval curve, embroidery in brilliant blue threads covering the fabric with complex vines and leaves. It is laced closely against her torso with black cords from ribs to waist, whereupon it falls to her hips. The long skirt underneath is of a deep blue flax, edged at the hem with a band of black ribbon.
