This was sort of a collaboration with Caerra, one of Benden Weyr's lower
caverns women who would help me with my sewing from time to time. She and
I conceived the idea for this outfit together, although I described it
and sent it to P'tran as a surprise on the Hatching day of Leilanth's
first clutch.
The Description
P'tran's Hatching outfit fairly squeaks with newness. The wherhide of his
tunic, dyed a smooth, unbroken red, is crisp and stiff, but not so that
it becomes uncomfortable to move in. Underneath, he wears a flowing
shirt of dark Cromcoal-coloured sisal - not jet-black, but a milder tone
of dark grey. Embroidered in red on the edges of the collar and the
gathered sleeves are tiny ][s, the symbol of Benden Weyr. Around his
waist is an intricate twisted-rope belt of red and black strips of cloth,
tied in a complex knot at his left side. Dark wherhide trousers, stained
to match the shirt, fall comfortably down his trim legs. They are tucked
in at mid-calf into black laced boots, the red-dyed fur of the lining
peeking out over the tops.
