Elspethe is clad in a gown made of the finest violet sisal. Immense
puffed sleeves begin at an off-shoulder neckline edged with white lace.
The puffs are gathered by white ribbon at the elbow, leaving a
leaf-shaped frill of violet sisal to extend down behind her arms. Her
waist is bound in a wide sash of white ribbon, giving way to a full
skirt which sweeps down to the floor at the back. The skirt parts open
at the waist, revealing multiple layers of white lace spilling down at
the front and ending several handspans up from the white slippers edged
in violet ribbon which adorn her feet.
