Baby Clothes

Date: August 19, 1996
Rank: Journeyrank

A stack of clothing designed for a baby's first turn of life. It includes a set of tiny underthings of various sizes in pale pastel shades. Also included are two baby's blankets for swaddling the infant, as well as a number of mix and match outfits for all seasons.

The stack of underthings includes a number of didies made out of soft flannel, over a number of layers of terry cloth. The sides fasten with a velcro-like substance. They look like they'll be very absorbent. Also included are a number of undershirts, some long sleeved, some short. All of the shirts have little snaps to make it easier to get them on and off.

Two snuggly baby blankets are included in the stack. One is a thin, soft flannel blanket patterned in white and yellow checks. The other is a largish patchwork quilted blanket with multi-colored trundle bugs embroidered in the white squares.

There are outfits for all four seasons in this stack including buntings for all seasons which snap down the front and gather at the bottom with drawstrings.

The summer outfit is a pretty little lilac sundress with matching lacy bottoms to cover her didie. It even has a little lacy brimmed cap which ties with a ribbon under the chin.

For winter there is a tiny woolen snow sack, not unlike the buntings, is basically a baby sack with fold-over flaps for the baby's hands and a drawstring hood. It is thick and lined with soft fur. When baby is wearing it, she looks like a little baby tree with arms straight out.

For spring and autumn there are little corduroy rompers which button at each shoulder and at the gathered ankles. They are loose-fiting, allowing for growth. The necklines are decorated with zig-zag ribbons matching the rompers and the chest-pockets have been embroidered with colorful firelizards and VTOLs.
