Part Five of the Summer Love Universe ************************%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% I need love. Sister Wisdom, help me see It's the one thing that I need The only thing that I need Love By Sixpence None the Richer ****************************%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% "You've giving them more attention than JFK jr. Van! What's up?" Mark asked as he handed him the latest info on Fox Mulder and Dr. Dana Scully. "They sell papers." "He's getting pissed, especially when he found the bugs in his apartment. The paper is getting sued big time for invasion of privacy!" "What ever. I'm going to keep on him, something tells me he's going to be getting on his knees soon and a picture of that, with my article??? Just imagine the publicity, the kudos for me would be enormous." "You've been hounding them for over 9 months!" "Mark, I'm not letting up. Anything else?" Van said as he walked out of his office and ran into Daniel Evans. "Dan hey, look I'm busy right now." "I got something your going to love." "Let me see." "I haven't gotten them developed, can you save room on the paper for them? Tomorrow morning's edition?" "You got 20 minutes, if there not developed, then I can't use them." "20 minutes?! It's going to take at least that long to set up?" "20 minutes Dan." "No matter what they are?" "No matter what, sorry man." Dan sighed, feigning disappointment, smiling secretly as he walked out of the building into Fox's Jag. "What he say? You didn't tell them what they were did you?" Fox asked "Nope. He couldn't use them if I couldn't get them developed in 20 minutes." Fox smiled evilly as he picked up his car phone. "I got him now." He said quietly as he dialed a number. "What do you mean you can't find him Mark?! We go to press in 20 minutes and my friggin' story has skipped town?! And you have nothing to show for it?" "Sorry Van, I thought your article was finished." Van growled in anger. This isn't happening, I'm so close, he thought as he asked. "What about her?" "Gone too." "Hmmm, very interesting. Ok stall them, I'll have something in 15 minutes." Hawaii Fox came up behind Dana and kissed her neck tenderly. "Hey, missed you. Where were you?" Dana asked turning and smiling at him. "Causing trouble." "As usual." "Told you having a good photographer around was a good thing. Who knew he had a way with words too." He said as he handed her a large manila envelope "Finally! These are beautiful, which one's did you let him use for the magazine article?" "These four." Dana nodded with approval. "I just can't wait for Van to stick his foot in his mouth. We really shouldn't derive this much joy out of showing up a nosy reporter Fox." Next morning--New York "Reclusive Billionaire flees press?" Mark said, reading the title of Van's article, then smiling, "What a way to bluff!" "Brilliant huh? We exposed his fling and now he's on the run. It's good enough till we can find out where they really are." "DAVIS! What is this?!" The editor said, storming into Van's office, waving the morning edition in his hand. "What?" Van said, startled at his editor's brash manner. "Where did you get your information?" "Why?" "Cause we are getting sued again!" "For what?" "Libel, and now I see why. What were you doing? Bluffing? I thought you would be the first to know when it happened." "What happened?" Van asked, gasping when the editor threw a copy of Time magazine in his lap. They were on the front cover, the room illuminated by hundreds of white candles, Fox in a dark suit, Dana in a flowing white gown, her fiery hair upswept, a few wispy curls framing her face, smiling up at him as he placed a ring on her finger. "Summer Love Forever?" Van read the title of the article, "By Daniel Evans?!!" "Isn't he YOUR usual photographer? What happened? Why didn't you know about this? You know how many papers we didn't sell today cause of your horrible contacts and reporting??? You know how much money we are going to have to spend to dig ourselves out of this hole?!! We'll never live this down!" The editor said, planting his hands firmly on his hips "And its not just Time. Life magazine has devoted it's whole May issue to the coverage of his proposal in Central Park of all places, and there Hawaiian wedding, even some honeymoon pictures and what do we have? Nothing! God, even the Post has a picture of the proposal!! They never get anything on time! Get your butt out of here and I don't want to ever see you in here again! Your Fired!" Van sat stunned a second, fired? Me? He can't be serious. "Mark! Get me Daniel Evans on the phone. I have a job offer for him, an immediate job offer." Hawaii Dana sat on the beach and watched the waves roll in, smiling wistfully. This is where it all started ten years ago. One night on the beach has changed my whole life forever. She smelled him before she saw him, he was in her favorite pair of cut off jeans, hair tousled by the wind. "Hey." "Hey." She said softly, leaning into him as he sat close to her on the sand. "Whatcha thinking about?" He said, futilely brushing strands of her fiery hair out of her face. "What color yacht I want." Fox chuckled softly "What our first child will look like." Fox kissed her gently on the temple and sighed. He twirled her diamond encrusted platinum wedding ring on her finger. The sapphire and diamond engagement ring sparkling brightly behind it, as he brought her hand to his lips to kiss. "If Nakila and Kaja can live together without breaking the house down." "That's a simple one, no." Dana laughed, cuddling into him more as the sun went down, turning the blue sky into a sea of purples, reds and oranges. "But we have forever to find out."
