SUMMARY: CJ Ritter meets her match in the person she least expects it. Part two of the Ritter Files. This story picks up over 9 months after Flavor of Love. *******************%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% We've been together for so long How could they think we don't belong? It's Your Life by Lenny Kravitz *********************%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% "So that's how Mulder and I met and I finally admitted to myself that I loved him." CJ whispered as she wrote furiously in her journal, "Now we've been together for over 9 months, and it's been the best nine months of my life. He treats me like a queen, gets me anything I want, he makes me feel like the most special and beautiful woman in the world, and lets not even talk about the sex." She smiled as she wrote that last part, remembering lasts night's demonstration of his sexual prowess. "Now he wants me to move in with him. I'm thinking about it, not seriously though, it's too soon for that. Today we're going to pick up his mom at the airport. I have never been more nervous in my life. I've been dreading it, what if she doesn't like me? Even if Mulder doesn't care, I do. I want his family to like me to accept me. "CJ, come on, what are you writing?" Mulder said coming up behind her and kissing her on the neck. CJ closed the notebook and flashed him the cover. "The Ritter Files: Private." He read, "Am I in there?" CJ gave him a mysterious smile and headed out the door. "Am I? Hope it's all good." I love his car, Jag S-series in light blue with white leather interior. He got the car about 6 months ago just cause he liked having one when he went to visit his mom. I wish I had money to spend like that. Him and his mom are close and I hope I don't drive a wedge into their relationship, CJ wrote into her journal. "Do you take that thing with you everywhere?" Mulder said with a smile. "Yep, especially when I'm nervous." "My mom is going to love you baby." He said, placing his hand on her thigh, massaging it gently. "You think?" "Of course, you're hard not to love. She'll fall in love with you as fast as I did." He said, turning into the airport and finding a park. He opened her car door and smiled when she hesitated. He pulled her out of the car playfully, kissing her hard, his tongue invading her mouth and tasting her briefly. CJ smiled and pulled away. "Feel better?" Mulder said, slightly out of breath. "Much." "Come on." He said as he linked his fingers with hers and headed towards the building. "Mulder, are you sure she'll . . ." "Stop worrying CJ. How would you like to be introduced? CJ or Colton James?" "Colton." "Ok there she is." He said, pointing to a medium sized woman with snow-white hair and piercing blue eyes. Mulder waved at her and smiled, squeezing CJ's hand lightly as his mom ran to him. "Fox William, my darling precious boy." She said as she hugged him tightly. When she only felt one arm around her, she pulled away, finally noticing CJ next to him, his hand intertwined with hers. "Well my goodness, who's this Fox William?" "Mom, this is my girlfriend Colton." "Colton, that's pretty. Pretty name for a pretty lady, give me a hug sweetie." CJ hugged his mom gently, slightly confused. "Fox William go get my bags. Colton and I will meet you at the car." Mulder smiled as his mom and CJ came to the car. His mom whispered something in his ear and smiled at CJ. "Mom! Jeez." He said with a smile, "In the car." Opening the passenger side door for her. "Oh I'll take the back seat sweetie." Mulder nodded, holding the door open for CJ then his mom. "He's so polite, such a gentleman. I taught him well." His mom said proudly "You should be proud of him." CJ said softly, watching Mulder walk around the car to the driver's side with admiration. "Extremely, he's overcome a lot to be where he is today." Really? CJ thought as he got in the car and flashed her a bright smile. We've talked about everything, except his background. I'll have to ask him later. It's like his life started at Harvard. "Hungry mom?" Mulder asked, starting the car. "Of course, the plane ride's so short they just tease you with snacks." "Lunch it is, CJ where you want to go?" "Mulder don't you . . ." CJ started "Mom will eat anything, anywhere, you're the picky one." Later that night "Mulder?" CJ said, cuddling into his chest as she bundled the covers around them. "Yeah baby what?" "I've told you everything about me." "Yeah." "Why haven't you told me everything about you?" "I have." "No, you started at graduating top of your class and going to Harvard, then Oxford. You never told me anything before then." "It's not important." "I know but . . . I told you, I just want to . . ." "No CJ, it's . . ." "Why not?" CJ said, kissing his chest gently and smiling up at him. Her smile faded when she saw the pain in his eyes. "Mulder?" "The things that happened before are just something I don't ever want to relive ok CJ?" "Sure." "I'll tell you one day I promise." CJ nodded and wrapped her arms around him tightly. "I love you Mulder." "I love you too CJ, no matter what. My mom loves you too." He said with a smile "What did she tell you at the airport?" "That our kids are going to be gorgeous." CJ giggled "Moms!" "I know, have you ever thought about it CJ? Have you ever considered what it would be like to marry me?" "Once or twice. You have to meet my parents first." Mulder sighed heavily, pulling away from her slightly. "Is that the deciding factor? If you parents like me or not?" "No . . .well kinda." "What if they don't like me? What would you do?" Mulder said, making her look him in the eyes. "I don't know Mulder. I know you don't care, but I do. I care what others think, I care about what my family thinks. I want to be accepted." "I know, I understand that CJ, it's just . . . I don't want to lose you CJ. Your one of the best things that's ever happened to me. I've never loved anyone like I love you CJ." CJ kissed him sweetly on the lips and cuddled into his chest, sighing contentedly. "Generally Mulder's mother loved me. I'm not quite sure why. I mean I know he's told her everything about me. I guess she's just a nice person or she loves and respects her son so much that she believes in his choices. I'm going to have to introduce him to my family soon. My family's reaction to him is the deciding factor, whether I should end it or get more serious about him. He's still after me to move in with him, I'm still not considering it seriously, I have to know how my parents feel first. "CJ, yoo-hoo CJ." Nick said, tearing CJ's attention from her notebook. "Love letter?" "Far from it, what's up?" CJ said, closing her journal. "Teachers awards July 30th, put you down for two?" Nick said with a smile. If it was up to Nick, I would move in with him, have a wedding ring blazing on my finger, and pregnant with our first child. In other words, she really likes Mulder. "Yeah." CJ said with a sigh. "That was such a passionate yes, what's wrong?" "His mom loves me." "Well that's great!" "I'm worried about my family. I'm going to take him to my family reunion he'll be able to meet everyone, what do you think?" "I think your nuts, but it is the best way for him to meet everyone. Your parents know? You know, do they know that Mulder's . . ." "No, I just told them I'm bringing someone special." "Oh boy, you're just asking for trouble!"
