2 weeks later
     

Mulder opened the door leading Scully into there living room..  She was handling
this a lot better than he was.  No more time of the month, no
more birth control making her sick, she was free.   Mulder on the other hand, was
still blaming himself, even though it was no ones fault. 
Fox jr and Kaja ran up to Scully jumping on her and  licking her.
     " I know I missed my baby's too."  Mulder was in full
mothering mode when the doorbell rang.  The Smiths, yikes!!
     " Is she resting ? We just wanted to say hi."
     " Yes she's on the couch come on in."  Mulder lead them
towards the living room.  The Smiths loved the Mulder's house,
it was so simply decorated but it made it look so nice.  Fox jr
was laying on Scully when they entered the room, Mulder ran
over to the couch.
     " Fox jr no don't, get down you'll put pressure on
mommy's stitches."  The Smiths looked at each other, Fox Jr.?
The hadn't gotten the name of the new addition to the Mulder
family yet.  More gossip for bridge.  They had brought a plant
and a casserole.  As they left, a wave of neighbors flooded by
with cards food and plants.  When they were done, they had
enough food for a month and enough plants to open up a green
house.  Mulder smiled and Scully knew it would be alright.
     

6 weeks later At the park

Scully threw the frisbee and a chase ensued.  Both dogs caught
it at the same time, Kaja's superior strength wrenched it from
little Fox jr which started another chase around the park.  Scully
looked back at Mulder. He looked tired, drawn the last couple
of weeks were hard.  He went to Dr. Johnson again for a couple
of hours a week.  Self esteem issues, guilt issues.  She smiled at
him, the kids came back and Scully threw the frisbee again and went to
sit by Mulder.
     " Hey Spooky, come and play with us." Mulder kissed
her hard and deep, drawing strength from her kiss, reassurance. 
He pulled away, nuzzling her neck with his head.  His spiky hair
caressing every nerve along her collar bone.  A quizzical smile
on her face in response to the sudden display of affection, she
put her arms around him tracing his back and chest with her
hands.  She looked in his hazel eyes, more green then hazel
today and read his thoughts.  No little Scully with red hair and
her fathers eyes. 
     " Come on the kids are waiting."  Scully pulled away
slowly entwined his hands with hers. 
     " You know we should throw a party.  I mean we have
that huge deck and pool and have never had a party on it."
" Actually I remember a few private parties that . . ."  Scully
punched him lightly in the arm flashing him a dirty look. 
Mulder smiled and said 
" I think we should, that way they have
more rumors to spread about us at bridge."  Then he tickled her
and quickly grabbed the frisbee from Kaja and started running
around the park followed by the dogs and a pissed Scully.  Fox
jr grabbed his pants leg slowing him down and Kaja made the
tackle, followed by Scully.  First down Mulder thought as he
pulled Scully closer to him, her lips hovered over his tempting
him before she pulled away.  Tease, that was cruel Mulder
thought as he got up.  Scully threw the frisbee for the dogs and
Mulder came up behind her, wrapping his arms around her
pulling her against him.  He rested his head on top of hers and an
strange felling of deja vu traveled through him.  

A Morley cigarette lit up as the lips it came to watched Mulder
and Scully .  It was over, he wanted to make it up for all the
things he had done to them for his cause, his lost cause.  He'd give them
the one thing they can't have because of him, the only thing
that could ever truly make them happy, make them forgive him. 
Their own child.
