Sam started out surveying planets, checking to see if their technology level had risen since their last survey.  This lasted for 6 months before being recalled to help monitor troop movements during the Fourth Fontier War.  Sam has seen his share of battles.  Sam was awarded the Silver Comet for Gallantry (SCG) for his actions at Battle of Rasatt.  The next eight years he spent travelling the Imperiam on Courier Duty.  His travels took him all over the Imperiam.  He was ordered back to the Spinward marches in 1094 and was assigned to Special Duties where he recieved the Silver Starburst for Exemplary Service (SSES) for the competion of his mission.  During his fifth term he was assigned to monitor the troop movements of the Zhodani along the Imperial Borders.  The last our years Sam saw duty as a Diplomatic Courier.  Carrying messages and Envoys to Diplomatic functions.  His last mission ended in the damaging of his ship the Bard's Tale and the injuring of his passinger.
