CLASSIC TRAVELLER (c) FOR DAYTIMER (c)
Version 2.0 July 4, 2000
by Brian Perkins

BACKGROUND
If you are like me, you need a portable Classic Traveller system that will fit in your 3 1/2" x 6 1/2" Daytimer (c). This, combined with a couple of six-sided die in your pocket (that can be discreetly pulled out and checked as needed), allows you to make the best of boring board meetings, waits in parking lots for young lacrosse players, long drives to Maine, and sanity breaks in office restrooms.
Just paste these pages into your Work Oranizer starting with the inside left page and ending before the last right page (which tucks into the Daytimer to hold the Work Organizer in place). The cover now looks like an ordinary Work Organizer. Only you know that a universe of adventure lies inside.
Since you may have to start and stop on short notice, using these pages in combination allows you to remember where you left off. An remember, always work in pencil.
I also tuck a second Work Organizer into my Daytimer and use it as a chronological record of events. Its fun to look back on, keeps my adventures organized, and helps when adventures are interupted by long periods of work and nonsense. Mine is labeled Beowulf's Journal inside the cover flap.

INSTRUCTIONS
To start a game, follow the three sections in Solo Classic TRAVELLER Rules for Merchant Captains (page 11). In Section 1 determine your destination. A map of Regina subsector is shown in the Solo Classic TRAVELLER Screen section (page 6). Buy cargo that you can afford usiong the Trade and Speculation Table and fill the remainder of the hold with Freight Available. Determine number and type of passengers available (Passenger Table) and update the Voyage Balance Sheet (page 13). This completes Section 1. Serious players include a text intro in their Journal descring the setting.
Section 2 is the take-off and flight out to the jump point. Check for problems during take-off (Screen, page 5) and then starship encounters (also Screen, page 5). For the former, make roles as appropriate and resolve as you judge reasonable. For the latter, if you encounter a ship plot both on the System-Scope and then conduct the battle (if any) on the graph paper (pages 23-24). Follow the sequence of the Turns Tracker (page 25) and keep it updated so you can resume later if interupted. Computer programs in use are kept up on the starship pages (19-20) and any damage is recorded there also.
Section 3 is the jump, travel into the destination system, delivery of cargo and passengers and liberty on the destination world. Check for starship enounters while inbound and conduct any interaction as above. Update the Voyage Balance Sheet after cargo is sold. Use the explore section to guide encounters, updating PC and NPCs directly on their sheets as they progress. Engagements on foot can be drawn on the Battleboard and tracked using the Turns Tracker. Necessary tables are shown on the Screen.
From time to time, I change out NPCs and bad guy ships by pasting new ones over the old.
