Ka-25 Hormone
Ka-25BShZ Hormone-A: This is a derivative of the Ka-25PL designed to tow minesweeping equipment and therefore not fitted with sonar equipment.
Ka-25Ts Hormone-B: This is the missile support version of the Ka-25 family fitted with A-346Z data-link equipment for the provision of targeting data and the mid-course updating of long-range anti-ship missiles such as the SS-N-3 'Shaddock', SS-N-12 'Sandbox', SS-N-19 'Shipwreck' and SS-N-22 'Sunburn' weapons launched by major surface ships varying in size from destroyers to battle-cruisers. This variant is distinguishable from the Ka-25PL by the domed undersurface of the nose radome for its 'Big Bulge' radar and the provision of a different radar with a cylindrical radome under the rear of the cabin. All four units of the landing gear can be retracted to reduce interference to the radar.
Ka-25PS Hormone-C: This is the utility and SAR variant of the Ka-25 family without the offensive avionics and armament of the 'Hormone-A', but often carrying a rescue hoist and other specialist gear as well as equipment for mid-course update of ship-launched anti-ship missiles.
