Lt. J.G. Osborn

I am Australian, and over here, Barney doesn't appear to be much of an issue to most. And even with those who have heard of him...When I tell them I'm a member of the Jihad to Destroy Barney, usually they look at me as if I'm some sort of idiot. But the thing is, I joined the Jihad for some very serious, real life reasons, as well as enjoying reading the works of fiction that other members write. The bottom line with Barney is that everything I have seen of him says to me that he is largely very destructive to society as a whole. He teaches children extremely negative things...Stealing is ok, always rely on the leader for solutions to problems, we must be positive and "happy" all the time. I have parents who are both members of Amway, so I know how damaging trying to be positive and happy all the time, to the point of neurosis, can be. I have read a certain amount on both the methods and the effects of mind control, and the "I Love You," song could seriously be considered to be at least very mildly hypnotic, IMHO. Is this really what we want our kids subjected to?? Not only are the moral values taught here extremely questionable in and of themselves, they are also delivered to the children almost via a form of mind control. Are you as parents willing to let your children sit in front of their television screens and be brainwashed with messages like the promotion of group conformity, tolerance of stealing, and trust of total strangers??? Parents need to realise that their toddlers and children are going to one day grow to be the people who will be in their positions...The adult members of the national and world population. Would we rather have those people vigilant about the preservation of democracy, or tolerant of a neurotically happy and "positive" fascist system?? This may sound a little extreme, but political thought begins at home. Barney is in children's homes, and my belief is that he is an attempt by the evil people of this world to implant tolerance of fascist ideologies into children at a young age. It's extreme to use the word facism here??? Let me ask you then...If any form of complaint is seen as "negative" and not allowed, and a complete dependance on the leader is fostered, what else can we call it but a fascist or totalitarian system??? Barney needs to be stopped, and our children need to be taught the exact opposite of what he teaches them in my opinion. But it begins with you parents...Are you willing or not to accept responsibility for your child's upbringing??? If you are not, then you should not have children, IMHO. It's really that simple.
