THE 10 GOLDEN RULES OF RADIO USAGE

1. Stop, think, and listen BEFORE you transmit.

2. Push the button BEFORE you start to talk.

3. Speak loud, slow, and clearly.

4. Don't use contractions - or should I say - do not use contractions.

5. Do not wave your antenna around while transmitting.

6. Get away from blaring sirens, horns, and chiefs when talking.

7. If possible, do not yell and scream into your radio.

8. Use common words and phrases.

9. Release the transmit button AFTER you finish speaking.

10. Try to include your callsign/identifier in every message. Say "Car 1 OK" or "Car 1 10-4" instead of just "OK" or just "10-4".

11. Smile when you transmit! (why not?!)
