Here in Queensland Australia all primary emergency services vehicles have flashing lights and sirens.
For Example.
Police - Patrol cars are marked with Red and Blue bar light roof mounted, unmarked police cars Blue rotating light magnetic to fit onto roof.
Ambulance (EMS) - rotating red older vehicles. Newer vehicles Red and White flashing light combination front double red flashing light rear also fitted with grill lights.
Fire - Single and Dual Rotating red lights fitted with grill lights.
These are our primary responce vehicles.
Green rotating or flashing lights can be used by First aid organisations.
Amber - Warning of a traffic hazard, or used on semi - trailers with oversize loads, escort vehicels our state emergency service vehicles.
Purple - Opperated by the department of transport (motor vehicle regostration body. Used on some of there inspection vehicles.
Very few lights require a permit, the public can not use Red or Blue on private their motor vehicles.
The light combanation may very in other states of Australia, but all Emergency Vehicles use red and blue lights depending on their particular service.
