General Info - most police service is provided by the Sheriffs Offices in each County, and by the State Highway Patrol. Cities also have their own police departments. Structural fire protection is provided by local fire departments. Wildland fire protection is provided by the USFS, BLM, BIA, MT State Forestry Service, and possibly some Sheriffs Offices. Ranchers Associations also - possibly. Ambulance services is provided by local ambulance services - usually small volunteer organizations. Dispatch service is usually centralized into 1 911 Center in each county.
