LEXINGTON KY FIRE DEPARTMENT
As of late February 2000, the Fire Department drastically reduced the traffic on the old 154.37 frequency. They also have reduced the power (or changed the location) of the 154.37 transmitter. It still simulcasts some dispatches, but you will no longer hear any fire units being repeated on this frequency. Most fire department traffic can now be found ONLY on the 800 mHz frequencies amongst its many talkgroups. Here are some of the main talkgroups I have identified: Talk ID Use
===========
08-021 [***]
08-022 "Fire 1"
08-023 "Fire 2"
08-024 "Fire 3"
08-025 "Fire 4"
08-026 "Fire 5"
08-061 "Info/General"
08-062 "Info/General"
08-081 Fire Prevention
08-082 "Investigators"
08-083 "Investigators"
08-102 Administrative Use (Maintenance/Repair People) 08-121 Unknown Use
09-022 "Fire Training One"
15-144 [***]
15-150 [***]
15-151 [***]
15-152 [***]
[***] -- These ID numbers have ALL been used for MAIN DISPATCH at one time or another. Lately, however they seem to have settled on 08-021 for dispatching.
I am slowly discovering more talkgroup IDs for the Fire Department. Some of these are not used very often. Some (or all) of the "Investigator" ID's also seem to be used for "Fire Prevention" personnel. These particular talkgroup ID's, and the recently discovered Training ID (09-022) have very infrequent traffic at present.
