From the Battle of the Bands Dept. comes this little quote from Stephan Jenkins, singer for the Bay Area band Third Eye Blind (admit it; you loved their catchy little single "Semi-Charmed Kind of Life" was quoted as saying the following about our very own Eddie Vedder in a recent issue of BAM" "I can't stand him. He got on stage at Madison Square Garden and said, 'We heard this band do this song last night. They had no right to do that song. So we're going to show those corporate cocksuckers how it's done.' And then they played 'Baba O'Riley'. And we were they band playing 'Baba O'Riley' the night before. What's he, the keeper of the Who flame? Somebody has to call him on his shit. It's one empty gesture after another." Mr. Renton wonders which particular gesture Eddie is making in Stephan's direction as we speak.
