Speaking of Third Eye Blind, they are currently in New York rehearsing for their Bonfire Tour, which kicks off on June 25 at
the Broome County Arena in Binghamton, New York, and winds up at Seattle's annual Bumbershoot on September 5. Some
of you may have noticed that Billy Idol hopped on stage with the San Francisco band at the KROQ Weenie Roast during
their rendition of "The Graduate," from Semi-Charmed Life, but we wouldn't want to lead you down the path, and let you
think this was a spontaneous moment (like Arion Salazar's, we mean).
Idol approached Stephan Jenkins earlier this month
because he liked the production work on TEB's album -- and wanted to know if the multi-talented Jenkins was interested in
producing his next album. Nothing has been decided, but according to Russell Bloom from Eric Godtland Management,
Jenkins "is currently listening to some of Billy Idol's current stuff, and they are in touch, but nothing has been decided yet."
This is not Jenkins' only foray into production work. Last month he took the Braids -- who you might remember from their
wacky remake of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" for the High School High soundtrack back in 1995 -- into Toast Studios in
San Francisco to produce their debut album for Atlantic. If that wasn't enough, he also penned most of the songs -- they
don't call him a control freak for nothing. Too bad he couldn't have controlled Arion on Saturday.
Since he didn't, the band have issued their own press release about the events that transpired last Saturday. We're are trying to remain impartial, so why don't we let Third Eye Blind tell you themselves.
