One of rock's more famous feuds in recent memory - between Third Eye Blind's Stephan Jenkins and Matchbox Twenty's Rob Thomas - may have finally been put to rest. Jenkins made a surprise appearance onstage at MB20's recent gig at the Fillmore in San Francisco. The two lead singers embraced. According to Third Eye Blind's label, Elektra Records, the gesture was prompted by Thomas' giving props to Third Eye's hit single, "Never Let You Go," while being interviewed on a Bay Area radio station. The move comes after several rounds of squabbling and name-calling over the years between the singers, both of whom rose to fame with their respective bands at around the same time in the late '90s. "As far as feuds with bands go, I think that's a terrible idea because I deeply respect the struggle that any band, regardless of the music that they make," Jenkins said. "As long as they were formed by themselves and not by a producer as a corporate product, I respect the struggle that they go through to make music. Whether I like the music or not, I respect the urge and the effort because at any level it's very hard to do it, even now."
